Tanzania Landscape Restoration Organization (TaLRO)

The NGO Tanzania Landscape Restoration Organization (TaLRO) was founded in 2019 by a group of Tanzanian conservationists. The founders of TaLRO are aware of the effects of the ongoing deforestation and degradation of landscapes worldwide. Communities and ecological systems are becoming less and less resilient as a result. TaLRO’s restoration initiatives are designed to help the Tanzanian government fulfill its commitment to restore 5.2 million hectares of deforested and degraded land by 2030. The NGO provides baseline surveys, runs a tree nursery, restores fallow land and forests, educates communities in conservation and develops nature-based income opportunities with them.
