Salon International

Salon International e.V. is a non-profit association based in Hamburg that focuses on culture, power-critical education and socio-political issues. One focus of our work is decolonial neighborhood work in Hamburg-Jenfeld. Together with neighbors, we actively engage with the history of German colonialism and ask how a modern, post-migrant and critical culture of remembrance can be shaped.

Through artistic projects, workshops and discussion formats, we create spaces for exchange and reflection and network locally, regionally and internationally. We see ourselves as constant learners who are open to new perspectives and want to engage with our own privileges in a power-critical way. Our aim is to make colonial continuities visible and to jointly develop new narratives that enable a polyphonic and more just culture of remembrance.
